Kennesaw on top in a thriller!!!!

Article By: Sgt_Lingus330

In a high-scoring matchup, the Kennesaw State Owls emerged victorious against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, winning 35-28. The game was a tale of two halves, with Kennesaw State rallying after a slow start to dominate in the second half.

Louisiana Tech built a solid lead early in the game, with quarterback Evan Bullock leading the charge. He passed for an impressive 397 yards, throwing 3 touchdowns, and despite throwing 1 interception, his performance kept the Bulldogs ahead. Tru Edwards was a standout performer, catching 11 passes for 215 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Fred Robertson added 45 receiving yards and a touchdown. However, Louisiana Tech struggled to capitalize on their opportunities, going just 6-of-14 on third downs, and their rushing game was limited to only 44 yards, including a negative performance from quarterback Bullock, who was sacked and rushed for a loss.

In the second half, Kennesaw State found their rhythm. After trailing 14-0 at halftime, they outscored Louisiana Tech 21-7 in the third quarter. Quarterback Davis Bryson threw for 352 yards, including 4 touchdown passes, and Michael Benefield added a rushing touchdown. The Owls' offense was efficient, converting on 3rd down at a much higher rate than Louisiana Tech, going 6-of-14 compared to the Bulldogs' 1-of-8.

Despite the Bulldogs' best efforts, including solid individual performances from defenders like Kolbe Fields, who recorded 17 tackles and 1 sack, Louisiana Tech's defense could not contain Kennesaw State's passing game. The Owls’ Bryson was particularly effective, throwing 4 touchdowns, including 2 in the second half to swing the momentum. The Owls also benefited from an aggressive defensive front, which kept Louisiana Tech's offense off balance.

Special teams were a mixed bag for both sides, with Louisiana Tech punter Patrick Rea managing to pin Kennesaw State deep on multiple occasions, but the Bulldogs were penalized 82 yards in the game. Meanwhile, Kennesaw State managed to limit any major kick or punt returns, contributing to their defensive efforts.

Ultimately, despite Louisiana Tech's early advantage and solid passing attack, Kennesaw State's explosive second-half performance and efficient offense carried them to a 35-28 win.
