The Charlotte 49ers lost on their road trip to UAB. The game started out 7-7 before UAB scored back to back touchdowns to go into the second quarter 21-7. UAB kept up the dominance, entering the half with a 35-14 lead. The 3rd quarter saw no Charlotte success, yielding another UAB touchdown. It wasn't until within 5:00 minutes in the fourth until the 49ers would find more success as Norton took a receiving touchdown in. UAB came away with a 48-21 victory.
Charlotte looks onto Florida Atlantic to close the season out.
After the Blazer's devastating loss last week to the Memphis Tigers, they bounced back this week in what might've been their strongest performance of the season. Jacob Zeno had the best game of his season, throwing for 355 yards and 5 touchdowns with zero interceptions. Additionally, Lee Beebe Jr. had his best game of the year rushing for 158 yards and 2 touchdowns. Defensively there was still room for improvement, especially in the run game, giving up 152 rushing yards and 379 total yards. They also picked up 3 interceptions. Overall a good rebound for a team that still has a lot to look forward to as the American Athletic Conference continues to its search for a champion.
