ASU Falls In Rivalry Game
Article By: Tempe, AZ – The Arizona State Sun Devils were unable to contain the Arizona Wildcats in the latest edition of the Territorial Cup, falling 34-14 in front of a disappointed home crowd at Sun Devil Stadium on Saturday night.
From the outset, the Wildcats showcased a strong all-around performance, taking advantage of key mistakes and capitalizing on opportunities throughout the game. Arizona’s defense was particularly impressive, limiting the Sun Devils' offensive attack and stifling their ability to sustain any real momentum.
The Sun Devils offense could not get a rhythm and were stopped numerous times in the first half and held under 100 yards for the half. On the other side of the ball the defense did as good as they could being out on the field for so long in the first half. ASU went into the locker room down 17-0.
The second half was better for the Sun Devils. They scored their first touchdown on a CB Robinson forced fumble and he took it 29 yards for the ASU touchdown. That momentum was short lived as Arizona then regained control. ASU was able to score one more time in the second half on a throw to Skattebo but that was all the offense could muster.
Arizona takes the rivalry game by a final of 34-14.
