It really looks like Coach TBB has figured things out. And he will likely be able to return to the Cougars next season. Other coaches need to look out for this BYU team in Season 31. BYU and Arizona State had a close first quarter finishing 7-7. But after that, it was all BYU. BYU took complete control of both sides of the ball and cruised to a 38-7 win in Provo.

In a tough road contest, Arizona State football found themselves on the wrong end of a lopsided 38-7 defeat against BYU on Saturday, with the game being tied 7-7 at the end of the first quarter before the Cougars pulled away in the final three periods. The Sun Devils were unable to match BYU’s intensity and execution after a promising opening, allowing the home team to dominate both sides of the ball as the game progressed.
From the second quarter onward, it was all BYU. The Cougars came out of the break with a renewed sense of purpose, putting together a series of methodical drives that overwhelmed the Arizona State defense. The BYU offense continued to click on all cylinders in the third quarter.
While BYU’s execution in all phases of the game was exemplary, Arizona State was plagued by mistakes and missed opportunities. The Sun Devils’ offense struggled to establish any consistency after their early touchdown. The only bright spot was RB Skattebo going over 100 yards rushing.
