Usually, you are pumped to be in the record books, but this isn't one of them. Quarterback Diego Pavia thew a record tying 9 interceptions. 2 went back for touchdowns in a 40-7 drubbing to the LSU Tigers. Pavia added two fumbles as well to this pee wee performance. The only bright spot was TE Eli Stowers 8 receptions for 87 yards and the lone touchdown.
The Tigers rolled into Vanderbilt this past Saturday looking to extend their win streak to 10 and continue on their path to a SEC Championship. Star QB Nussmeier and company looked to leave no doubt early on as he threw for 3 TDs in the first half while K Ramos added 3 FGs to get to a 37-7 score at the half. The Fightin' Tiger defense stepped up as they have all season, putting the Vandy QB in a box all day and forcing a record tying 9 INTs (notables - CB Stamps with 4 and S Gilbert with 2). The All-American LB duo of Perk and Penn controlled the entire game and combined for 13 tackles, 4 TFLs, 1 INT, and 1 FF/FR. The 2nd half blew by with very minimal scoring by either team as the game ended with a 40-7 Final. Geaux Tigers.
LSU will travel to Norman, OK next week for the final game of the season.
