UNLV goes in for the TD

Late Nights Late Losses

Article By: Vic

In a late night affair the UNLV rebels and their go-go offense ran it up against the Spartans and win the game 24-16.

Close throughout the game started as San Jose drove down the field but couldn’t finish and settled for 3 then in the second quarter the on sought of the run game was something to witness as the rebels ran up and down the field scoring 14 points in the 2nd. Emmett brown (still in for walker eget) drove the Spartans down the field and took it in himself to make the game 14-10 at half.

The 2nd half started as the first ended more runs by the rebels as the lead swam up to 21-10 a missed fg a td and a failed 2pt attempt late we are deep in the 4th with the score of 21-16. UNLV drove it down to kick a fg to make it 24 -16 with 3 mins left. Coach Vic and the Spartans drove the ball for a while but had to punt both times giving the rebels the edge at the and winning the game.

Coach Vic after the game said he was proud of his team “they kept fighting throughout this game and this season no one had any expectations of us when I first came here now look at us can hold our heads high and say we gave it our best shot” what the future holds for coach Vic I don’t know but I’ve been hearing a lot of schools want his services.

Rebels Rushing Attack Helped Secure the Victory

Rebels Get the Victory Over the Spartans

Article By: Black Rain

The UNLV Runnin Rebels grab a much needed victory against the short handed San Jose State Spartans and Head Coach Vic. The always-tough team of Head Coach Vic and his Spartans played the Rebels tough at Allegiant Stadium, and it came down to key stops at the goaline on a third down play, as well as key stops late in the fourth quarter. Luckily, the UNLV football team did not commit a turnover as shown in the losses to the San Diego State and Boise State teams which plagued the Rebels team in getting dominated. In this game, Head Coach Black Rain emphasized the turnover battle and if you commit no turnovers, or limit them, you usually have a chance against any team, and the team showed resilience against the Spartans with no turnovers The Rebels ran the ball effectively, as Thomas ran the ball on 21 attempts for 192 yards, which is a career best, and helped the Rebels get the victory against the Spartans. Rebels win a tough game at home.
