Buckeyes returned to action and were firing on all cylinders. Offense started a little slow but picked it up and the defense began driving Card nuts.

Turning point was Henderson's 76 yd PR TD in the 2nd quarter after on OSU stop. Momentum seemed to shift there and the Purdue offense was really having to climb uphill after that.

GG Razorback. Thanks for fitting it in and best of luck the rest of the way!

Crash and Burn Boilermakers

Article By: razorback44

While there were no grand expectations that Purdue would take on Ohio State and walk away with the win, there was hope that they would be competitive as they have been in all games so far during this rocky season. However, that would not be the case as the Buckeyes came to play and approached the game with laser like focus that put this one away well before half.

Purdue struggled in all facets of the game during this tilt. Lowest passing totals of the year, lowest rushing totals of the year, missed field goals, returned kicks, dropped passes, fumbles. You name a bad outcome, and it probably happened to Purdue in this one. Ohio State had the Boilermakers number all day long and it was evident from the moment they stepped off the bus. The team speed of the Buckeyes was on a completely different level than what Purdue could put on the field, and it was apparent to everyone in attendance.

Hudson Card wrapped up an up and down season with his lowest totals of the season. Even with the low performance, he managed to pass the 3,000-yard mark on the season which was the lone bright spot from this game. That moved him into the Top 10 QBs in the country in regard to yards thrown. He's struggled with accuracy and drops from his receiving corps, but he has pushed on and continues to show why Purdue is known for being a QB factory in the modern age of football.

In a move that surprised no one in West Lafayette, Coach Razor was quickly and quietly dismissed of his head coaching duties following completion of the game. The loss to Ohio State officially removed the Boilermakers from bowl contention and that was too much for a program that was fresh off a 9-win season when he took over. It was a disappointing season from week one where the staff threw away the game with a boneheaded play call to end the game with a loss to this week where they lost by 34 points to a Buckeyes team they beat last season.

Both parties will go their separate ways as Purdue will look to find a coach that can better utilize their roster talent and Coach Razor is rumored to be heading back to the warmer part of the country where his offense has traditionally had more success.
