In great SEC fashion there was another good match up today with Georgia hosting the Rebels of Ole Miss. Ole Miss came out moving the ball very well but was stall out after missing a 28 yard FG. UGA came out moving things well but would be kept to a 3 and out. On their next possession Ole Miss would end the 1st quarter in the lead 7-0. Georgia moving the ball well in the second quarter would find themselves in a close one at the half ending up 14-13 Ole Miss. The Bulldogs defense stepped in the second half as they always do, forcing 4 turnovers one resulting in a pick 6. Beck found his receivers around the field but it was a 75 yard strike to Smith that gave the Dawgs some breathing room. "We came out a little slower today than we would have liked to come out, but in the end we held on and made plays when we needed and walked away with our heads held high." said Coach Cane after the game. FSUpenguin is a hell of a coach and solid when game planning and the Dawgs were lucky to walk away with this one.
For the first half the Rebels offense moved the ball, even ran it a little bit, the defense was tough, and they held a lead on the road vs a very talented opponent.
The 2nd half was a different story, and the key was a surprising source. In a season of great inconsistency TE Caden Prieskorn has been a model of reliability for the Ole Miss offense, but tonight he was a liability. The targeted receiver on 3 of the 4 interceptions that Georgia came away with, Prieskorn stood and watched the ball instead of fighting for it or finishing his routes. This completely turned off the Rebs offense in the 2nd half, Georgia capitalized on it in a big way, turning a dog fight in a dog fight at Michael Vick's house.
GG dcane, I'll get you next time, maybe, if you don't have UGA.
