The Sun Devils, who had held a slim lead for much of the second half, saw that advantage slip away in the final minutes when the Cowboys scored a go-ahead touchdown with under one minute remaining.
From the opening whistle, both teams struggled to find offensive rhythm. Arizona State's defense, bolstered by a raucous home crowd, set the tone early, stifling Oklahoma State’s offensive attempts. The Sun Devils defense kept the Cowboys out of the end zone for much of the game, forcing multiple punts and preventing any significant gains through the air or on the ground.
