The title of this article sums up the Miss State Bulldogs' performance today. The Bulldogs' play was truly offensive on both sides of the ball. The offensive line didn't block anyone, and the defensive line could not cover a pebble with a 40-foot tarp. On the other hand, Taylen Green looked like Tom Brady and Lamar Jackson had a love child developed in a lab with 20/23 for 250 yards passing. The touch and ball placement was truly masterful. If there was a bright spot today it was punter Nick Barr-Mira. He punted 6 times for 305 yards with a 77-yard punt. He may be the only one Coach Beercop lets on the plane ride home.
In a powerful display of defense and efficient offense, the Arkansas Razorbacks blanked Mississippi State 30-0 in front of a home crowd in Fayetteville. The Razorbacks set the tone early when Hudson Clark intercepted a pass and returned it 48 yards for a touchdown, putting Arkansas on the scoreboard in the first quarter. Taylor Green followed up with a 14-yard touchdown pass to Andrew Armstrong, wrapping up a dominant first half with a 14-0 lead.
Arkansas extended their lead in the second quarter with a 30-yard field goal and a 42-yard touchdown run by Jordan Anthony just before halftime. Though the extra point was missed, Arkansas went into the locker room commanding a 23-0 lead.
The Razorbacks added one more score in the third quarter when Khafre Brown caught a 37-yard touchdown pass from Green with 4:41 left. This final touchdown solidified Arkansas’s 30-0 lead, which would hold for the remainder of the game.
The Arkansas defense was the star of the day, holding Mississippi State to a mere five first downs and just 51 total yards of offense. The Bulldogs managed only -14 rushing yards and were forced into two turnovers, allowing Arkansas to dominate both sides of the ball.
This shutout victory showcased the Razorbacks’ defensive strength and efficient scoring, leaving Mississippi State unable to respond to Arkansas’s momentum.
