In an exciting Big 12 Matchup, the Colorado Buffaloes surged past the Arizona Wildcats with a decisive 42-21 victory in Boulder, Colorado. Colorado set the tone early, as quarterback Shadeur Sanders connected with Kam Mikell on a stunning 71-yard touchdown bomb that sent the home crowd into a frenzy. Mikell proved unstoppable, racking up 120 receiving yards and scoring once to lead the Buffaloes’ air attack. Adding to the offensive firepower was All-American Travis Hunter, who chipped in with four catches for 73 yards. On the ground, Colorado’s run game was equally impressive, grinding out 112 tough yards to keep Arizona’s defense on its heels.
Not to be outdone, Colorado’s defense stepped up in a major way, proving relentless and stifling throughout the game. The Buffaloes forced three interceptions, smothering Arizona’s passing attempts and denying the Wildcats any rhythm. Colorado’s lockdown defense and balanced offensive prowess kept them in firm control, securing a commanding win in front of their fans. The victory over Arizona not only showcased Sanders and Mikell’s explosive connection but also underscored Colorado’s defensive strength, as they continue to make their mark this season.
Fifita continues to struggle taking care of the ball
Colorado showed who the better team was today. The teams would trade scores on their first 2 drives, but Arizona was settling for FGs and it was clear who had the momentum. Colorado would use a 21 pt 2nd quarter to take a 28-6 lead at half. Arizona was quickly in a hole on the road
In the 3rd quarter, Arizona's defense managed to force 2 turnovers (one which led to a touchdown) to make it 28-13. With the ball down 15, Fifita ruined all hope of a comeback with a brutal pick six. This swung the game back to a 3 score lead and Colorado continued to assert their dominance to close it out
