A defensive struggle in the Kansas plains. K-State and West Virginia slugged it out for 4 quarters. Stagnant offenses were stopped inside the 5 yard line, 3 times. There was barely 500 yards of offense between the teams. The games only TD came on an 84 yard INT return by Wildcat corner Jacob Parrish. Both squads also struggled on special teams each missing a FG, KSU as the half expired from 48 yards and WVU a short kick at an angle inside the 5. in one of the biggest series of the game WVU had driven down after missing the before mentioned FG down 10-0 late in the fourth and Coach Lone's controller died on 3rd and goal which ended up costing a TD and forced their second FG attempt which was successful. From there K-state was able to churn most of the clock and give WVU the ball back with about 20 seconds left for a few hail mary attempts which ended up falling incomplete.
