NIU offensive explosion against Toledo

NIU had an offensive explosion in the 2nd quarter today scoring 31 points in just the 2nd artery after a very slow 1st quarter.

The ground game once again got going as NIU rushed for over 150 yards and 3 touchdowns

Jalen Macon also threw for 300+ yards once again and is now #2 in the nation for passing yards

During an interview Macon said “it’s great to have guys i can depend on and throw the ball to, all of my receivers deserve targets”

Rockets Crash on Landing Against NIU

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Rockets came out with big hopes on a good offensive showing, but it was the defense that failed to show up, giving up a season-high 55 points to Northern Illinois. That included a game-deciding 31-point second quarter as NIU would go ahead 31-21 at the half.

The Rockets' best chance came at the start of the third as they returned a pick 43 yards for a score to close within 31-28. But NIU came right back with a 75-yard strike and another score two minutes lafter for a 17-point lead, and they would finish off the 21-point win.
