The Oregon Ducks edged out the Ohio State Buckeyes in a thrilling, one-point victory with a final score of 25-24 after converting a 2pt conversion after a TD with 19 seconds to go in the game.

The game was defined by Oregon’s strong passing game, led by quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who threw for 319 yards despite two interceptions. Ohio State initially had the upper hand, leading in the first quarter and holding their own throughout, supported by a balanced offense with Will Howard throwing two touchdown passes. Both teams' defenses made a significant impact, with Oregon’s Kobe Savage grabbing a key interception, and Ohio State's Sonny Styles and Jack Sawyer delivering critical tackles for loss. The Ducks struggled with their ground game, gaining no net rushing yards, yet compensated with effective passing plays and timely red-zone conversions. Ohio State, meanwhile, found success on the ground, amassing 126 rushing yards, but struggled to maintain offensive consistency in the second half. Special teams also played a role, as Ohio State’s missed field goals would prove costly in such a close contest.

Top performers:

Oregon:

Dillon Gabriel led the passing attack, completing 24 of 32 attempts for 319 yards, showing impressive accuracy despite throwing two interceptions.

Jordan James contributed significantly in the red zone, with three rushing touchdowns on short-yardage plays, providing a needed boost even though Oregon’s overall rushing game struggled.

Ohio State:

Will Howard showcased his efficiency, going 19 for 24 with 199 passing yards and two touchdowns, balancing the offense well and keeping Ohio State competitive.

Quinshon Judkins was a key player on the ground, leading with 95 rushing yards on 16 carries, consistently gaining yardage and breaking three tackles.

On defense, Sonny Styles stood out with six tackles and a crucial interception, while Jack Sawyer contributed with two tackles for loss and a half
