In a close game that was lead by turnovers, the RedHawks defense was the star of the show. With 9 Interceptions on the day, the Rockets were not the masters of the sky. Both teams were still able to score and keep the game close however, with 11+ turnovers it was a sloppy game. Kenny Tracy was putting up his usual 163 rushing yards and 2 TDs as he helped drag the RedHawks to victory. Cade Mcdonald was able to find the red zone twice as well to give the offense a pretty balanced attack.
Defensively the RedHawks were able to slow down the Rockets and make big plays when they needed them. After a slow start to the season the defense finally found their physicality and took it to the Toledo offense. Coach Suddenblues has this to say after the game, "We knew this was going to be a hard game as coach Mtwasik is a veteran and always a tough coach. We played good defense and offense which is rare for us this season. I am glad we were able to finally sneak out a win vs a conference foe."
Good luck to Toledo and coach Mtwasik on the rest of the season!
