Charlotte Drops a Tough One On The Road
Article By: The Charlotte 49ers lost a tough won on the road last night as they took on their rivals the East Carolina Pirates.
ECU and Charlotte played a defensive game in which ECU running back Rahjai Harris led the charge with 112 yards and a touchdown. In a close game like this it's important to hit your field goals, but both teams came out with big misses.
CLT struck early, scoring on a 32 yard pass by Max Brown. Rahjai Harris answered in the second quarter with a big 38 yard run. The pirates had a late interception to close out the first half. In the second half, not much happened. The game became extremely defensive, and ECU closed out in the final two minutes with a 25 yard field goal.
Charlotte has to play a make up game against Rice next up. Let's all hope they can iron out the issues on offense before that game kicks off.
Pirates Grind Out Win Against Charlotte

ECU began conference play with rival Charlotte 49ers. Even though the OOC saw big time teams the 49ers gave ECU their biggest fight so far this season.
Charlotte went up early in the 1st qtr with a 32 yard td pass from Brown to Kellman.
ECU settled in during the 2nd quarter and got points on the board from both the offense and defense. Harris recorded his only td of the game on a 38 yard td run. Safety Duncanson returned an INT for 22 yards for the defensive td.
Both teams would slug it out in the 2nd half with ECU getting 3 int's. ECU only points came on a 25 yard field goal with 1:43 left and that would end the game with a score of 17-7
ECU next travels to UTSA to finish out the week.
