Illinois opened the game strong and took a 10-7 lead into the second quarter and then the talented PSU offense woke up. Fueled by at 35 point second quarter behind back to back pick 6s late before halftime propelled Illini to stay on the ground in the second half and feed it to talented RB Nick Singleton.
The Illini gave up over 200 yards on the ground for a second straight week and have significant questions on rush defense.
Junior QB Luke Altmeyer did no good for his capabilities throwing several interceptions and the Illini could not get their ground game rolling. Illinois droppes to 0-3 on the season and hosts Oklahoma next week.
