TCU Defeats SMU in Iron Skillet!

In an exciting edition of the Iron Skillet Battle, the TCU Horned Frogs triumphed over the SMU Mustangs, 38-27, in front of a raucous home crowd. TCU running back Jeremy Payne was the standout performer, amassing 150 rushing yards and scoring three total touchdowns—two on the ground and one through the air—to lead his team to victory.

Payne's impact was felt early and often, as the Horned Frogs built momentum with key runs and a receiving touchdown that extended their lead in critical moments. His two rushing touchdowns gave TCU the breathing room they needed to withstand SMU’s attempts to rally late in the game.

The victory improves TCU’s record to 2-0 on the season and continues their dominance in this long-standing rivalry. The Mustangs, despite their best efforts, were unable to keep up with Payne's explosive playmaking and TCU's balanced attack.
