The Memphis Tigers won their home opener over Navy this afternoon by a score of 39-13

The Midshipmen struggled with their option attack as the ball hit the ground several times today. The Tigers struggled finishing drives but made up for it with their special teams as they nailed 3 fgs and returned a kick off for a touchdown.

The Tigers will now set their sights on a difficult road game against Wake Forest

A lot of unusual plays today but that comes with early games. Navy will be just fine going forward, solid coach and a pleasure to play against

Navy had to rely on an unsuspecting passing attack and a solid defensive performance in a losing effort at Memphis.

QB Horvath went 15-for-20 for 2TDs, as the vaunted option ground game was snuffed out by an incredible performance from the Tigers front seven.

The defense kept them in the game with a goal-line stand in the first quarter, 2 INTs by CB Andrew Duhart and held Memphis to 3 FGs.

Great game coach, it is always a pleasure playing against you in a AAC. good luck this year.
