In a very close game between the ducks and the owls, temple was able to come out on top. Turnovers were a problem for both teams with 9 total turnovers for both sides combined. After only being up 10 at halftime, temple continued to struggle against the ducks strong defense only holding them to 73 rushing yards for the game. Forrest Brock didn't have the prettiest of games throwing 2 interceptions. The defense was able to pick up the mistakes of Brock. forcing 2 fumbles and recovering both and forcing 5 interceptions from Gabriel.
The defenses for both teams were very strong and played that way through all 4 quarters. The deciding factor ended up being the defensive touchdown for the Temple Owls. After a late game comeback for the Ducks, the owls sealed the game with their final interception, the 5th one for the ducks, to end the game and come away the winner of the citrus bowl and finishing their season strong.
