UCF has to hang their head high, they went toe-to-toe with a top NDL coach and team out of the ACC.
"The way we got to look at it is that Clemson was a top 5-10 team most of the year, in the ACC conference title mix all year, they are a great team, have a great coach, and we gave them all we had", said Coach RB
UCF has found their offense again the last few games they've played, and last night putting together 500+ yards of offense.
Clemson scored most of their TDs via the big play, as tackling seemed to be non-existent for the Knights. Big days for both Clemson WRs, as they broke of multiple 70 yard TDs as well as some massive runs from both RBs on their squad. UCF put up 500 yards and Clemson was also sniffing that number.
The Tigers went up 28-14 and what looked to be 35-14, but UCF made some plays before half and hung in there. In the 2nd half, UCF just couldn't get the stop when it needed it the final 2 minutes, as Clemson was able to run out the clock with the run game.
"If we can figure out how to limit the big play and tackle more effectively, I think we'll be alright. Still have some meetings with the boosters and NIL collective but I hope we showed them enough to stay here. We believe this team can compete next season in the Big 12 and improve our record. This is a fun team with a ton of talent."
The Clemson Tigers earned Coach Ry a win to end the season. UCF took their first possession straight down the field for a score. Clemson opened with a quick pass that was almost picked off. The next pass was a quick slant that went 70 plus yards and the game was tied. Clemson and UCF traded touchdowns until Clemson took an interception for a touchdown. The Tigers had a chance to go up 35-14 with the ball to start the half but the Clemson machine malfunctioned and the game was quickly tied up at the break.
The second half slowed down a bit as the Tigers were able to get a second half turnover. The Knights QB scrambled up the middle but was quickly overtaken and stripped of the ball. That turnover provided the margin of error that often decides games. Clemson was able to kick a field goal and take a ten point lead.
UCF would drive the field but they used up a lot of time and ended up kicking a field goal. Clemson was able to run out the clock and celebrate a bowl victory.
Great Game , it was a lot of fun.
