Both teams played this game close to the vest and in the end it was the Ball State Cardinals making plays down the stretch to win in OT versus Auburn. The Tigers hoped to ride their RB to another win but found the road was just too much to overcome. Leading 7-0 at the half the Tigers felt good about their chances of getting over the hump on the road. Ball State would out score the Tigers in the second half and OT 20-7. It will be back to the drawing board as the Tigers offense tries to get something going in the passing game. For now Auburn drops to 1-2 on the young season with SEC play to get ramped up very very soon. Games with Georgia, Oklahoma and Missouri looming.
Christian Davis scampered into the endzone late Tuesday night in OT as Ball State remains undefeated. This was a game of ups and downs for Ball State, who trailed at the half 7-0. 2 Qian Magwood second half touchdowns kept Ball State in the game and a late stop had Ball State knocking on the door at the end of the 4th quarter. A 40 yard field goal miss as time expired kept Auburn in the ball game. In overtime, Ball State came up with some magic of their own with a FG block, which eventually lead way to the Christian Davis score.
Ball State has Georgia Southern next in an effort to remain undefeated.
