Article By: Doodee

The University of Washington Huskies fell to the Colorado State Rams thanks to the arm of Ram quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi, (23-26 for 455. yards) and star receiver Tory Horton (9 catches for 168 yards).

"We just couldn't get him off the field," said Coach Doodee. "He just didn't miss. Did he miss? I don't remember the misses if he did."

The Huskies offense also had some crucial turnovers when it mattered most, as transfer QB Will Rogers lost a fumble on a drive that could have taken the lead, and then threw an interception to seal the victory. He was 18-26 for 287 yards and 4 touchdowns. Running back Jonah Coleman was a bright spot, rushing for 145 yards on 18 carries, and adding 4 receptions for 82 yards and two touchdowns.

"Coming off a national title and losing a lot of players, we knew there would be challenges. But let's see how we respond. It's time to really take a look at our defensive playbook and see if it's the one we need."

Both offenses were on fire in the first half, going blow for blow with a halftime score of 27-24 in favor of UW. In the second half, the teams slowed down a little and UW's crucial errors in the fourth quarter meant a goose egg for the Huskies in the fourth quarter.
