Boildermakers Derail in Corvallis

Article By: dub6582

The Purdue Boilermakers fall to the Oregon State Beavers in week 4.

The Boilermakers were able to score on their opening drive, trying the game up at 7-7 in the first quarter. Poised to go up, a deflected pass in the endzone thrown to receiver Jahmal Edrine resulted in a costly interception, the first of 4 on the day for Hudson Card.

Down 14-21 at half and ready to receive the ball after halftime, the Boilermakers looked like they were going to make the game competitive. However, a string of interceptions by Hudson Card, one of which became a pick-6, ruined the Boilermakers chances. The game was over in the 3rd quarter.

The Boilermakers run defense continued to struggle, allowing just shy of 330 yards on the ground. They had no answer for the dynamic duo the Beavers have in their running back room.

The Boilermakers will look to shore up their run defense and cut down on turnovers in their week 5 home game against Nebraska.

Beavers remain Undefeated...... Barely

Beavers hosted a red hot Boilermaker squad hoping to ruin the homecoming festivities, but even with poor secondary play wouldn't be enough to get the Boilermakers the win as the "DAM RUN ATTACK" set the field a blaze behind a rushing duo primed and ready for the major stage Tuesday versus the Ducks.

The HB's would avg a combined 27.1 per carry, and astounding display of grit and hardworking to compile that type of numbers for one of the weaker OL's in the nation. This win was ugly said Brady who couldn't help but wonder how long the run would last, with a lazy effort in the secondary allowing over 400yds in the air.
