Clemson rallies late, edges Memphis
Article By: Memphis traveled to Clemson this afternoon looking to shock the 5th ranked Tigers. The game was hard fought as both defenses were playing especially well. Memphis seized control in the 4th going up 21-14. Key plays went Clemson's way from that point on as they rallied with 2 late 2tds in the last couple of minutes
"We blew it" said Coach Red " Had a chance to basically ice the game but came up short on 4th down and then with the game tied we decided to let Seth sling it and unfortunately he threw a pick. We learned a lot about our team though and will look to bounce back later this week"

Clemson mounts a fourth quarter comebck

The Clemson offense is still struggling with their identity. Klubnik was very unsure early in the game and threw two half interceptions.
Clemson stuck with the signal caller and he hooked up with Tyler Brown for a quick slant that turned into a 80 yard touchdown. This gave Cade confidence and he played better from then on. Mafah was able to get the run game going at times but for the second game in a row was somewhat bottled up until later in the game when his size and power began to take over.
Down 21-14, Clemson tied it a with a corner route to WR Stallato, his only catch of the game, to tie it at 21. Memphis had the ball left with around a minute left and they decided to go for it. LB Braxton Carter had different ideas as he intercepted an underneath pass. A few plays later Mafah trucked the defender to plow into the end and a 28-21 lead.
