Two old coaches renewed their long rivalry today. In the end Stanford’s defensive was too much as they forced 5 into on the day. Owls defense did all they could to keep it close but in the end owls fall 21-14. GG dray!!
Two long time vets and friends met today on the hallowed fields in Palo Alto, as Coach Wes & Coach Dray met again. Stanford would jump out early and get the ground game started as they drove down field and would take an early 7-0 lead after the first quarter.
The 2nd would see the Cardinal offense kick in even more as they would notch two Ashton Daniels to Elic Ayomanor td passes to push the lead to 21-0 at the half.
But Coach Wes had one of those Coach Fulmer halftime speeches ready and had his Owls fired up after intermission & shut down the Cardinal offense while cutting into the lead 21-7 after three.
In the fourth, the Owls would keep grinding and Bohannon would find Moss after a long drive to cut the lead to one score 21-14 with 1:25 remaining.
KSU would try for an onside kick but the Cardinal would recover, and convert a 4th and 1 at the 34 on a Daniels keeper to seal the victory.
“Great game from the Owls, that’s the kind of effort you always get from a Wes Brand coached team. You gotta finish to the final buzzer. We were able to start out moving the ball well but couldn’t maintain. We will have to do a better job of that going forward. Defense made the plays it had to when they had to but overall gave up a lot of yards. But we’re able to keep them out of the endzone a lot of the day. Thankfully!” Coach TheRealDray after the game.
