Kentucky played great defense but just couldn't get the ball rolling on offense. Their two interceptions were the difference in the game. The best part of the game was the time spent talking on the headset between old friends. The conversation and laughter continued 2 hours after the final whistle. The Hoosiers look forward to their upcoming game vs. UCLA on Saturday.
Its been many years since IU and UK have played but Coach Keg and Coach Tat brought back the Bourbon bowl.
The rivalry between UK and IU has fans yearning for this rivalry to pick back up. Thanks to the NDL it is back on the books.
Before the game, Keg and Tat met behind the UK team bus to throw back a shot of bourbon to toast the reunion.
But it was Coach Keg finishing off the bottle after the game as IU handed UK it's 2nd loss on the season.
IU controlled the game from start to finish, controlling the defensive and offensive fronts.
"Our team has regressed since the BYU game. It's been a head scratcher and lead me to drinking if I"m being honest".
Coach Keg had this to say about his long time coaching friend "I wish our team could have gave him a better game. His team was prepared from the kickoff, but that's expected from a Coach Tat team. You can see his coaching style and philosophy being played out on the field. Class act coach and great guy to play against. Outside of the lines it was a pleasure catching up on old times and looking forward to many more games down the road."
UK's season gets grimmer as they face the #1 team in the NDL nation, the Georgia Bulldogs.
This one could get ugly early!
