South Carolina ended the year with a bang with a victory over Clemson in the Palmetto Bowl. Sanders was the leading workhorse in a close game as he rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown, capping a 1,000 yard rushing season. 2 players were suspended during this game, so the defense had to stand tall and performed in the moments when they needed to most. Harbor was a big help on the sidelines as we hope to make a playoff spot in this seasons upcoming CFP 12 man national championship.
We do know one thing, being a top team in the SEC, and after big wins against teams like LSU, and Oklahoma. We hope to get a spot in the big games so we can truly showcase our skills.
The Palmetto Bowl was a well played game but Clemson fans will take no solace. South Carolina scored the first two touchdowns of the game. Clemson battled back with a balanced attack and the score was 17-10 South Carolina.
Clemson had the ball to start the second half but were unable to capitalize on the opportunity. Eventually South Carolina led 19-14. Klubnik threw an interception but the defense held SC to a field goal. SC would again take a double digit lead 29-17 late into the game but Clemson scored a touchdown and finally made a defensive stop. The Tigers converted a few first downs but once Klubnik made a poor decision and throw leading to a game ending interception.
