In a defensive showing for Louisville, the Cardinals were able to march into Kroger Field and destroy the Kentucky Wildcats. Shough went 19 for 30 with 315 yards and 1 TD. Chaney led rushing as normal with 83 yards and 2 TDs off of 20 carries. Redman was the only Cardinal to have a receiving TD, and caught 6 passes for 130 yards.
The Cardinal defense showed out, forcing two fumbles (Forced: Griffith and Quinn, Recovered: Gillotte and Perry) and caused 4 INTs (Riley, Griffin, Neal, Thorton). Neal took his INT for a pick-six on UK's initial possession, leading to the beginning of this defensive onslaught.
In the season finale Kentucky once again showed the same issues it had all season...to many turnovers.
Kentucky got on the board early with a 59 yard strike from Brock V to Barion Brown. Brown had a great game with 1 td and 120 yds receiving.
Kentucky and Louisville both traded pick six's in the game but the dagger in the heart for any momentum for the cats was Trayanum fumbling back to back plays. Brock V would go and throw 3 more int's as well. UK's offense never got on track after that and the defense couldn't keep up with the Lousivllle gameplan in the second half.
This looks to be Coach Keg's final game in Lexington. Maybe the coach will be back on the sideline down the road but next season the Cats need a new direction.
