UGA drops the ball in the 4th

Article By: dcane7

UGA had their last game of the season against rivals from Georgia Tech today at home. At what looked like a game the Bulldogs should win with their eyes closed on paper, Georgia definitely did not play like it. You can see the team not firing off on all cylinders as they switched gears in the redzone after marching down the field and throw an unnecessary pick 6 to give Tech the lead. There was a lot of back and forth but The Bulldogs would go into the locker room up 21-14. At the start of the half the Bulldogs still playing sluggish going 3 and out and allowing Tech to get back into the game in the 4th with both teams tied. Another costly and what could have been avoidable interception gives tech the ball with a short field and they are able to get the lead with less than 2 mins to go. The Bulldogs just didn't have the gas to get it done. "We didn't take this game seriously and it showed. Even with the mistakes and the slow start we felt we had the team to pull forward when we needed to but was unable to do so when it mattered. A lot of forced mistakes that shouldn't have happened but we didn't play our game today and it showed." said Coach Cane after the game. GGs to Ga Tech and good win bro. I definitely choked on this one and gave it away

Unnamed Georgia Player Response to Loss

David Slays Goliath in Athens Thriller

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets rolled into Athens feeling confident Monday night coming off a win against the Hurricanes. A rivalry all in tradition and not record, the nerds of the south came in with everything to prove and nothing to lose.

The killer bees offense started off hot in the rushing game, driving deep into Georgia territory before Haynes King's first interception, elevating the crowd and shutting down the sideline. Georgia returned the favor, driving into the Georgia Tech red zone before Carson Beck threw an 88-yard pick 6 to Rodney Shelley, quieting the Bulldog faithful for the moment.

Georgia hit back, catching the Yellow Jacket defense slipping on a 36 yard touchdown pass to Oscar Delp on a drive that saw defensive breakdown after breakdown. The Bees managed a solid drive to go up 14-7 with under two minutes remaining before the Bulldogs fired on all cylinders to tie the game on a 44 second drive. Haynes King then threw a pick-6 with under 30 seconds to create a 21-14 Georgia advantage going into the half.

The two offenses traded uneventful drives for most of the second half, until Carson Beck threw an interception in the endzone, suddenly flipping the field in the fourth quarter. Georgia Tech pushed down the field, tying the game 21-21 on a Jamal Haynes 1-yard rush with under 2 minutes to go. The Yellow Jackets hesitated to celebrate, as they remembered what Georgia had done at the end of the second quarter.

Those concerns were quickly alleviated, as Carson Beck threw his fourth interception in his own territory. All Georgia Tech had to do is run the ball, chew the clock, and rely on Aidan Birr to make a game winning field goal. Despite having all the confidence in a kicker who has missed two 19 yard field goals this year, Jamal Haynes ran it in from the five yard line, despite his total intention on getting tackled before then. He kept progressing forward when his legs weren't even moving!

Up 28-21, the Yellow Jackets stuck to a conservative zone defense, testing Carson Beck to execute. They forced incompletion after incompletion, finally resulting in a win that just 24 hours ago seemed like a dream. Georgia Tech accomplished the unthinkable - existing as both nerds and jocks for one shining moment.
