In a spirited Mid-American Conference clash at InfoCision Stadium, the Toledo Rockets emerged victorious over the Akron Zips with a 31-13 triumph. The game, played before a dedicated home crowd, showcased Toledo’s well-rounded performance, leaving Akron to reflect on missed opportunities and areas for improvement.
Following the game, Akron head coach priest19 expressed disappointment but also emphasized the need for improvement. “We made too many mistakes and didn’t execute well,” priest19 said. “Toledo played a strong game, and we need to learn from this and come back more prepared.”
The loss put an end to a disappointing season for Akron as they will sit at home and watch the bowl games.
The Toledo Rockets kept their chances of playing for the MAC Championship alive by winning 31-13 to Akron. Overall just non exciting game from either side. They will need to play more inspired to win the next couple of games. Coach Smitty might have his eyes on other coaching jobs because he looked like he didn't even want to be on the Toledo sidelines
