Bowling Green put up a stifling performance vs Ball State, forcing 2 turnovers and shutting the Cardinals offense in the 1st half. Ball State forced a BGSU field goal on the opening drive and moved the ball down field methodically, but a Kiael Kelly INT ended the drive in the redzone. BGSU ended up having a turnover of their own, but added a touchdown late in the second quarter to end the first half 10-0. BGSU had a punt return TD in the 3rd, along with another INT on defense. Ball State showed some life, as Kiael Kelly thew for 357 yards and 2 second half touchdowns, but wasnt nearly enough. BGSU added a late touchdown by going for it on 4th down, which put the game away.
Bazelek continued his consistent performance vs Ball State
In what was deemed the MAC game of the year with much of the season on the line for both teams, BGSU Faclons headed to Ball St to take on the Cardinals.
BGSU sits with 1 loss in conference play (OT to Toledo) and Ball St. is currently ranked in the Top 25 and sits atop the MAC.
BGSU came out looking to run, and they did that well for the first drive, but a poor 3rd down decision caused a FG. Ball state drove back down completing some key conversions, but ended up turning it over deep in the opponents red zone.
The two teams went back and forth, but it was a late TD before half to put the Falcons up 10-0, going into the break. After a quick stop, the Cardinals piunted away to the Falcons and after learning from an earlier punt that was almost muffed, it was one of the few PR's the falcoins have hgad all year, and this one opened up like the red sea up the sideline.
now up 17-0, the Falcons proceeded to add on another TD and push it to 24-0 late in the 3rd Quarter. The two teams exchanged scores, and with the Falcons up 17-0 and at 4th and 2 inside their opponents 15 yard line, BGSU decided to go for the game right there and hit Wimberly on the quick flat pass to all but seal it now up back up 24.
Ball Stat moved it some to end the game, but ultimately, BGSU was able to take some knees to end it and walk off victors on the road in some hot MAC-tion
