Louisiana loses to Troy 37-20. After a few weeks of a dominant passing game, Louisiana quarterback Chandler Fields seemed to fall back into his interception filled ways. Louisiana hopes to come out next season looking stronger, and maybe with some major changes.
Troy traveled to take on Sun Belt divisional foe Louisiana and were able to come away with a rare road victory. Up to this point in the season, the Trojans were winless in road games and were on a 4 game conference losing slide.
After throwing 5 interceptions in their last game against Southern Miss, the Trojans decided to play it closer to the vest and lean on a strong rushing attack and conservative play calling to minimize mistakes.
The Trojans gave up some huge plays in the passing game over the top of the secondary but most of the game were able to force some big turnovers including (2) pick sixes that gave them enough momentum to secure a W.
Unfortunately, The Trojans miss out on bowl eligibility this year but HC AUChase was able to secure his win goal for the season. Troy may be looking for a new head coach after the Georgia Southern game to close the season.
