Brady & the Beavers secured their 9th win on the year, while also securing the #7 rank in the first CFP Rankings in the revamped NDL league. Beavers got the news after the game, which was hard fought.
The defense was demolished this week allowing over 600 yards of offense, versus a ruthless Air Force squad. After the contest Brady was quoted saying "We must do better if our goal is a deep CFP run"
Colorado Springs, CO — In a high-scoring contest, the Air Force Falcons fought hard but ultimately fell short against the Oregon State Beavers, losing 45-35. Despite putting up 510 yards of total offense, turnovers plagued the Falcons, allowing the Beavers to capitalize and secure the win.
First Quarter: Offensive Fireworks
Both teams came out firing in the opening quarter. Air Force quarterback John Busha led his team to an early 14 points, but Oregon State responded in kind, putting up 21 points of their own. The Beavers’ explosive ground game, which would end the day with 224 rushing yards, proved difficult for the Falcons to contain.
Second Quarter: Beavers Take Control
The second quarter was all Oregon State as they added another 14 points while holding Air Force scoreless. Turnovers began to haunt the Falcons, as they committed five throughout the game, including four interceptions. Oregon State capitalized on these mistakes to extend their lead to 35-14 by halftime.
Third Quarter: Falcons Start to Rally
Air Force managed to claw back into the game in the third quarter, scoring a touchdown to cut the deficit to 38-21. However, Oregon State’s defense stiffened at key moments, and despite Air Force’s 303 passing yards, the Falcons struggled to string together consistent drives.
Fourth Quarter: A Late Surge Falls Short
In the fourth quarter, Air Force mounted a furious comeback attempt, adding two more touchdowns. Oregon State, however, answered with a late score of their own, preserving their lead. While Air Force showed resilience, the Beavers’ ability to control the clock and execute on third downs (6-for-11) proved decisive.
