SMU came into this one with everything to lose and still a lot to gain. The Mustangs would score on their opening drive to take the early lead on a series of runs out of the backfield. The drive was capped off by a one yard TD run. The defense would continue to play strong only giving the BC offense fits all day and coming up big on multiple third and fourth downs. BC scored on offense in the second quarter and the very next drive caused a fumble that was kicked into the endzone for and Eagle TD and to bring the game within 7. The rest of the game was all Mustangs however as they continued to be good on the ground the the QBs combined for a perfect day through the air going 12/12..
