USM came into the game off a 2.5 week break and without their starting QB who was suspended for 2 games for violating team policy. The rust was certainly there as they fell 14-0 in the first but the defense picked them up in the 2nd with 2 big interceptions leading to a 28 point explosion.
The second half saw some back and forth action as USM tried to play as conservative as possible while they juggled work calls and the scoreboard. Ultimately they were able to get down the field late and get 3 on the board after forcing Tex St to force all 3 timeouts.
Texas St had one last shot to get into fg range but was unsuccessful.

IN a game that saw Texas State burst off to a 14-0 start, saw them fizzle out quickly giving up two pick 6's in the first half to go down 21-14. The Bobcats never really established the run game and were relying on the passing attack to move the ball.
"It has never been what we have wanted to do all year, we continue to miss reads and force the ball into spots it shouldn't go and we are paying for that".
Texas State looks to end the year on a high note with Coach on the hot seat.
