The Marshall Thundering Herd get out to a slow start and fall behind fairly quickly. However, the guys bounced back to bring the team within a touchdown but ultimately just cannot hang on as the Chanticleers pull away in the second half starting with two interceptions.
Coastal Carolina won their matchup against Marshall today in a game that had about a 20-minute lightning delay. Marshall started the game rough getting sacked on two of their first 3 plays but came up with a stop right after to force Coastal into their own 3-and-out. Coastal got their offense together and went on to get a 10-0 lead before Marshall answered to make it 10-7. The teams would go back and forth until halftime when a late touchdown pass from Ethan Vasko to Kyle Duplessis with 13 seconds remaining in the half allowed the Chanticleers to take a 24-10 lead into the locker room. Coach FiredUpChip must have had an excellent locker room talk because the Conway Kids got 2 interceptions to start the second half and went up 37-10 before a lightning delay which caused a shift in momentum and Marshal came out strong to end in a 44-24 loss.
