In a Cardinal and white shootout, Louisville came on top. Tyler Shough played impressively, going 17 for 23 with 361 yards and 3 TDs. Lacy caught 5 of those passes for 111 yards and a TD, but for the first time this reason; Redman stood out with the top receiving yardage, gaining 158 yards and 2 TDs off of 5 catches. Chaney showed out as of late, rushing for 200 yards and 1 TD off 23 carries. Lacy also brought in a rushing TD.
Defense created two turnovers, with Neal and Riley having one apiece.
Stanford was looking to close the season on a high note and possibly become bowl eligible. However, the plural Cardinals would come out on top in a back and forth affair, 38-31.
It certainly was a breakout game for the offense as Ashton Daniels & Elic Ayomanor would be a force when the singular Cardinal would have the ball. Daniel’s would finish the day with a season high 420 yards and 4 tds. His main target on the day would be Elic Ayomanor who finally lived up to his preseason press clippings with a monster 8 catch 270 yard receiving yards & 3 tds.
However the usually bend but don’t break defense couldn’t hold the Louisville offense out of the end zone most of the day.
“If we could just get this type of performance from our offense and our usual defense, we could really put some things together, but that ultimately is on me to bring that together on gamedays.” Said Coach TheRealDray after the game.
