The Pitt Panthers had a solid win over the Virginia Cavaliers!
A 28-13 victory is a much needed win over a very tough Cavalier team.
This game was close late in the 4th quarter. Pitt was up 21-13 with 1:21 left in the game. Cavaliers are on the 27 yard line on 2nd down. They throw a pass over the middle and it is caught for the first down.
They are now at the 15 with 1:10 left in the game.
They run the ball up the middle for 3 yards.
2nd and 7 from the 12 with :52 left in the game.
They run a pass play over the middle and it is intercepted by Donovan McMillan.
He returns this to the house with a 100 yards Pick 6 to seal the victory!
An incredible play by Donovan McMillon! A 100-yard interception return for a touchdown is always a game-changer and a dramatic way to seal a victory.
McMillon had a great read on the play and some impressive speed to make that return!
It’s moments like these that make football so thrilling!
That is 2 wins in a row by a last minute pick 6 for these Panthers as coach Niddler is enjoying his new internet and no more lag!
Great game by Coach Toro and good luck the rest of the way.
After the bye week, the Cavaliers geared up for Pitt...and came out with an energy not seen often this season...
A back and forth battle ensued, with UVA driving late in the game to try and force overtime.
The UVA QB, who has had a much maligned season, played a fairly efficient, clean game, until the final drive...with the goalline in sight, but apparently unable to see the Panther defender, he tossed a drive killing, game clinching INT, that was returned 100 yards for the pick 6.
Pitt showed great sportsmanship and class, complementing the UVA players and staff after the game.
