In an exciting matchup between Rice and Memphis.

The 1st half was a battle of the defenses as neither offense could find any rhythm going, allowing both punters to get some extra work in.

The third quarter saw a flurry of action, starting with Rice's Drayden Dickmann catching a 67-yard pass from E.J. Warner, followed by a successful kick from Tim Horn at the 6:00 mark. Memphis quickly responded with an 8-yard run by Mario Anderson, with Caden Costa adding the extra point at 3:19. Rice struck back with another impressive play, as Dickmann caught an 85-yard pass from Warner, with Horn once again securing the extra point at 2:42. However, Memphis closed the quarter strong with Anderson's 6-yard run and Costa's reliable kick at 1:06.

The fourth quarter continued the thrilling pace, with Memphis extending their lead. Sutton Smith's 13-yard run, complemented by Costa's kick at 2:50, put Memphis further ahead. Mario Anderson sealed the game with a 12-yard run, and Costa's kick at 1:09 brought the final score to 28-14 in favor of Memphis. The game showcased impressive performances from both teams, with standout plays and strategic maneuvers that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

Memphis outlasts Rice

Memphis improved to 9-2 (7-0) with a hard fought win over Rice this evening.

Rice came out with a solid game plan as they controlled the clock and played hard nosed defense which definitely gave Memphis fits

Memphis finally got things going on offense in the 2nd half as Mario Anderson found the end zone 3 times .Sutton Smith would later close the game out with another TD run.

“Great game plan and execution by Rice tonight”said Coach Red after the game
“Tonight was a slugfest, we are fortunate to escape with the win”
