Iowa lost their second game in a row. This time at home. The Hawkeyes were clearly overmatched from start to finish. The Wildcats dominated the line of scrimmage, and were able to poke holes in the Iowa zone defense. Iowa made a QB change at halftime that seemed to spark some life into the offensive huddle, but ultimately the defense just couldn't do enough to stop the Wildcats. With 2 losses on the season the Hawkeyes will set their sights on a bowl game hopefully. Having opened the door to a QB controversy, who knows what will happen against Wisconsin.
Northwestern jumped out to a 28-0 lead which they took to half, but Iowa did make things interesting in the 4th getting the lead down to 2 scores but Northwestern holds on 37-23. Jack Lausch was once again a bright spot for the Wildcats, completing 15 of his 20 passes for 317 yards and a TD. The rushing attack combined for 170 yards and 2 TDs on the day,
It was the defense that was the story though. Iowa switched QBs during the game, but it didnt change much as they combined for 0 touchdowns and 3 INTs. DB Coco Azema had one of those interceptions which he returned for a touchdown. Azema added 6 tackles on the day.
