Efficiency was the name of the game for UNC as they take the road win at Virginia in a rivalry matchup. Carolina played mistake free ball on offense, but it was the defense that came up big today forcing two turnovers and creating 14 tackles for losses that helped turn the tide throughout the game. Omarion Hampton had a big day on offense with 150 yards rushing and a couple of touchdowns. After the game, the UNC coach stated, "It was good to see the defense make some big stops on short yardage, and our offense was finally able to capitalize and pull away late. Again, it's always about the turnovers for us, and it was good to see a 0 on the TO column for once."
The Rivalry was decidedly one sided, as UVA had their hands full with RB Hampton, as he powered through the Cavalier defense.
UVA's own offense would again show glimpses of what could be, and then fail to finish.
The defense, which normally is good for one or two turnovers, failed to get any takeaways on the day.
