The Red Hawks just can't catch a break this season as they fall to the Chips. While the offense looked good some drives they looked lackluster the others. Their defense just couldnt stop the run even when they knew it was coming. The Red Hawks will need to dig deep the rest of the way to save their bowl hopes.
After the game we met up with the coach who had this to say "Our guys played their hearts out, just had to stop the other team and we couldnt." "We need to get tougher when the game is on the line and do what needs to be done to win. Our opponents have done that better than us all season."
Miami and Central Michigan played an instant classic Thursday night in Oxford Ohio. The 2 teams traded blows the entire game. Fitting no team would have more then a 7 point lead the entire game as it would end in double Overtime.
Marion Luke’s would account for 4 of the Chips touchdowns as he scored on runs of 2, 8 and 1 yard out ( also had a 13 yard receiving TD) Marion would account for 78 of the CMU 181 on the ground with 18 carries. Myles Bailey would pitch in 36 yards a a score of his own. QB Bert Emanuel was a duel threat as he rushed for 54 yards and threw for another 195 going 22-24 while connecting with 7 different receivers.
Coach Ank said “ We came in with a game plan to mix it up… We ran 69 plays to a balance of 42 to 27” Bert is our guy the rest of the way.. his abilities to run the option gives our offense the best chance to be successful.
The Chips had 6 different guys get a carry in tonight’s game which is a must when your on the field for 69 plays and over 17 mins.
The defense was lead ( term slightly used cause we sucked on that side of the ball tonight ) by Sanchez and Cochran who both recorded 7 tackles each out of their Linebacker positions. The running game had success because of the line play.. we recorded 27 pancakes tonight ( 17 by Seripigilia ) and only gave up 2 sacks.
