After a tough road stretch for Coach Shiesty and the Panthers they finally get a couple of games at home. During that 3 game losing streak FIU's defense was practically nonexistent. The offense also had their own struggles turning the ball over at very inopportune times throughout their losing streak but also racked up tons of yards and points, the defense just rarely was able to do their job to help secure a win. Well the defense certainly woke up in their game against Sam Houston State. The Panthers picked off the SHSU qb 4 times and stepped in front of an option for a fumble six. The offense was steady with a clean game from qb Haden Carlson and a 3 TD day from backup running back Shomari Lawrence.
FIU looks to stay in the win column next week as they get New Mexico State at home.
