Bulldogs survive trip to Texas Memorial

Article By: dcane7

In a game of powerhouse schools the Bulldogs of Georgia found themselves visitors to the Longhorns of Texas. The Longhorns came out the gate firing, moving the ball consistently down the field to take the first score. On the very next drive the Bulldogs would answer back. UGA forces a punt and hits Texas with a 65 yard run to go up 7 with the score now 14 to 7. After getting the ball back on a turnover QB Carson Beck would find TE Oscar Delp for a 22 yard dot to put the score at 21-7, but the Longhorns wouldn't go away quietly getting another score before the half to end it at 21-14. Little did the Longhorns know but that would be the last time they would see the endzone as the Bulldogs defense pitched a second half shutout to help seal the win. "We were happy with our performance today. After the loss last week we had to take a look at ourselves and see where we could improve to make it harder for teams to beat us and we did just that today." said Coach Cane after the game. It was a solid game and great coaching by BigZ. Expect to see good things from this coach in games to come. The Bulldogs get a chance to rest a game next block and also play host to a Florida team that is currently on fire.

Bulldogs Dominate The Longhorns

Article By: BigZZ916

#1 Bulldogs looked everything like the number 1 team in the nation dominating the Longhorns in Austin.
Early on, in line with other games this season, the Longhorns looked like they'd compete with the "Big Dawgs".

The Longhorns were able to establish the run early keeping up with the Bulldogs 14-7 but couldnt convert a short 4th down in the first, punting to the Dawgs already up 7. Georga would take a commanding lead capping off a pass-run balanced drive with a 22 yard connection between Oscar Delp and Carson Beck. The Longhorns would give their home fans hope, with a long drive capped by a CJ Baxter touchdown to make it 21-14 at half.

The second half was a different story as the Bulldogs D locked down the run and passing game. As the Bulldogs lead grew, The Longhorns had to force the passing game which led to multiple interceptions ultimately putting the game away.

Bulldogs Trevor Etienne was the star, running for 120 yards on 22 carriers, 1 touchdown. Arian Smith was the leader in the receiving game where he had 4 catches and 155 yards and a touchdown.
On the Longhorn side, CJ Baxter found holes early and ran for 98 yards on 21 carriers, and 7 receptions for 93 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Coach Z was complimentary of Coach Cane following the loss:

"There is a reason those guys are winning, and winning big. They have a level of strategy and play combined with talent that may be the best in the nation. I fully expect to see these guys in the final games of the CFP"
