Article By: Eastern Michigan continued their turnover spree today but was able to recover in front of the home crowd. Snyder's first pass of the game was an interception. Very quickly it was 10-0 Chippewas. The Eagles were able to save face in the 2nd quarter and drive the ball to a 10-10 tie but Central Michigan rallied to a FG for a 13-10 lead at half. The Chippewas had the Eagles on their heels all day with a great gameplan
Despite forcing a 3 and out to open the 2H, Eastern Michigan handed all their hard work right back with a pick six to go back down 10 points. Fortunately for Snyder and the home faithful, they orchestrated a 4 play 72 yard drive to get back within a FG. This was eliminated on the kickoff by a phenomenal return to the house from Marion Lukes by coach Ank. The Eagles would chip away with a FG to make it 27-20 going into the 4th quarter.
The play of the game for EMU happened on the next drive with a big hit from Zach Mowchan to force a fumble. Suddenly EMU had a stop and momentum. After tying the game 27-27, both teams traded scores to send us into overtime. With luck on their side, EMU played defense first and forced a FG. A WR mid screen saw the Eagles get inside the 5 on their first play of overtime. It took all 4 plays, but on fourth and goal Eastern Michigan elected to try and win the game with a goaline power O. Mimms narrowly got around the corner to get in the endzone for the first MAC win of the season and first victory at Maxx Crosby field

Article By: Central Michigan Running Back Marion Lukes had himself a game Saturday night against Eastern Michigan. Lukes accounted for over 250 all purpose yards as he ran and passed for a TD.. Lukes also returned a kickoff 99 yards in the 3rd quarter to put CMU back up 10. The defense also scored on a Da'Ron McKiney pick 6 in the 2nd quarter. In OT CMU had to settle for the 3 , Ank said i wanted to roll the dice and go on 4th and 3...but we decided to kick the FG Our defense is terrible, we should have went for the 1st down. Right then we knew we lost the game. Eastern Michigan punched it in for 6 on a 4th and 2 for the win. At that point I knew we lost a game we should have won...Great ESPN instant Classic game for sure
