Wyoming Wins OT Thriller

Article By: swellvermin

The Wyoming Cowboys pulled off a dramatic 20-17 victory over the San Jose State Spartans in an overtime showdown, thanks to a dominant defensive performance and a stellar outing by running back Harrison Waylee.

The Cowboys' defense was the star of the night, wreaking havoc on San Jose State's offense with an astonishing six interceptions. The secondary was relentless, as multiple players stepped up to disrupt the Spartans' passing game, forcing turnovers at crucial moments. This defensive effort kept Wyoming in the game, particularly when the offense struggled to find rhythm early on.

On the offensive side, Harrison Waylee was the workhorse for the Cowboys. He racked up over 150 yards on the ground, consistently moving the chains and providing the offensive spark Wyoming needed. His powerful running set the tone for the Cowboys and helped them control the clock throughout the game.

The game was a hard-fought battle from start to finish. Both teams traded blows in regulation, with neither able to pull away. San Jose State tied the game late in the fourth quarter, sending the contest into overtime.

In the extra period, Wyoming's defense came up big once again, stopping San Jose State on their possession by forcing a turnover. The Cowboys then capitalized on their opportunity with a game-winning field goal, sealing the 20-17 victory.

This win improves Wyoming's record and serves as a statement about their resilience and ability to come through in clutch situations. With Waylee leading the charge on the ground and the defense proving to be a formidable force, the Cowboys will look to build on this momentum as they continue their season.
