The Spoilermakers strike again!

In a stunning game, the Boilermakers take down the #3 Oregon Ducks 31-7.

The game started with a 2 minute drive, capped off with a 9 yard touchdown reception by WR C.J. Smith. The Ducks were able to tie it up near the end of the first. The Ducks looked to have their first stroke of luck with a fumble recovery, but a quick challenge from Coach Dub overturned the call.

Another efficient drive led the Boilermakers to take a 3 point lead. The Ducks started to unravel, with Quarterback Dillion Gabriel throwing 3 interceptions, 2 of which were returned for touchdowns by cornerback Delonte Yates. Gabriel would go on to throw 5 interceptions total. The Ducks tried one more desperate attempt to score before the half, but were downed at the 1 with time expiring.

The Boilermakers were able to go into the half with all the moment, holding the Ducks scoreless in the second half.

The Boilermakers next travel to Urbana-Champaign to take on Illinois.

Oregon had its sights set on a 5-0 start, but a disastrous final three minutes of the second quarter led to a shocking upset. The Ducks threw three interceptions, including back-to-back throws that were returned for pick sixes leading to a 24-0 burst by the home team.

Oregon had a chance to get back in the game, but was tackled at the 1-yard line as time expired at the half. Twice in the second half Oregon was stopped on fourth down inside the 10-yard line, leading to their worst offensive showing of the year.
