Pack came out of the second half to play

Pack Comes Back

Article By: ICE

Today the NC State Wolfpack welcomed the Syracuse Orange to Carter-Finley Stadium. The Orange played tough D in the first and frustrated the Pack be forcing fumbles and not allowing any points until 3:51 left in the half. However, by that point Cuse had build a 14-0 lead by having a 27 yard pass and a 7 yard TD run. The Pack's first score came off the arm of Grayson McCall when he saw Kevin Concepcion behind the corner with no safety help over the top and the two connected for a 73 yard scoring strike. After the Cuse extended their lead to 17-7, McCall would find Concepcion again, this time from 3rd and goal from the 4 as they elected to throw a quick slant after being stuffed on the first two downs. At the break, it was 14-17 Cuse. With the Pack getting the ball first in the second half the offense set out and on the first drive McCall would drop back and find his RB running all alone on the wheel route down the sideline as he would connect with Jordan Waters to score from 51 yards out to take their first lead of the game 21-17. Syracuse would answer back with a 33 yard FG to climb within one point, but NC State then went to work on the ground and while mixing up the run and pass, the OL opened holes and Jordan Waters would do the rest, one score coming on a short field and a one yard plunge and then a season long 77 yard run that he appeared to be stopped at the line, but he broke free and with his speed scored the last score of the game to put the Pack up 35-20. The Pack defense would have had chances to score on a turnover, but elected to control the ball and the clock to seal the win in front of the home crowd in Raleigh. GG TexaNole, thanks for getting it in. Best of luck!

In a dramatic turn of events following a tough 35-20 defeat to NC State in a raucous sold-out stadium, Coach TexaNole has decided to part ways with the defensive coordinator. The Orangemen's season has been marked by inconsistency, including challenging games against top-ranked teams, which have put significant pressure on the coaching staff.

After suffering through two particularly rough losses, Coach TexaNole recognized the need for a defensive overhaul to prevent further decline and potential upheaval, including the possibility of a head coaching change. The loss to NC State, where the Wolfpack’s intensity and home-field advantage were palpable, underscored the shortcomings of the 4-2-5 defensive scheme.

In a bold move, the team has appointed an interim defensive coordinator who has made an audacious prediction: the Orangemen will win out the remainder of the season. This new defensive leader aims to bring fresh energy and a different tactical approach to the team. Coach Ice’s recent victory, where he led the team back from a 14-point deficit to secure a win, has served as a testament to the potential for turnaround and has perhaps influenced the decision to make a change at this critical juncture.

With the interim coordinator's bold forecast and a renewed focus, Syracuse is poised to enter the latter part of the season with a fresh perspective and renewed hope.
Good game Coach ICE
