Defense Shows Up for Ball State

Article By: Dcanady1

With a little under 2 minutes left in the game, Jack Beebe put an end to Kent's State chances with a 22 yd INT return TD. Beebe undercut a pass to Gavin Garcia and outran Tommy Ulatowski to the endzone. It was the third INT for Ulatowski, who ended up with 4 on the day.

Ball State's offense stumbled for portions of the game, but RB Christian Davis stepped up with 200+ total yards. This included a 99-yard touchdown run with 11 seconds left in the first half. After Ball State Head Coach Dcanady considered kneeing the ball to close the half, he opted to give Davis an opportunity and it paid off. Kiael Kelly continued his impressive season, adding 2 more touchdowns and 202 yards on 70% passing.
